Following the success of Textile Investment Promotion Conference in Taipei, Taiwan on March 6th - 8th, 2019, Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee held Taiwan-Vietnam Textile Investment Promotion Conference at Rang Dong Textile Industrial Park - Aurora IP on July 4th, 2019.
The conference was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung - Chief Representative of Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei; leaders of large textile enterprises in Taiwan; representatives of Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment; representatives of Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade; delegates of Taiwan Textile Federation; Mr. Ngo Gia Tu, Member of the Standing Board of Nam Dinh Municipal Communist Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee; representatives of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee and Provincial Regulatory Authorities; representatives of Rang Dong Infrastructure Investment and Development JSC - Investor of Rang Dong Textile Industrial Park and press agencies.
Presented at the Conference, Mr. Ngo Gia Tu introduced the potential and strengths of Nam Dinh province in attracting investment, especially in textile and garment (T&G) sector, and affirmed provincial efforts in supporting, providing incentives and partnering investors for their investment in Nam Dinh.

Known as the “cradle” of Vietnam's T&G industry with more than 100 years of development, Nam Dinh considers T&G as a key economic sector to promote provincial socio-economic development and is oriented to become a T&G center of Northern Vietnam. Currently, Nam Dinh’s provincial planning has more than 10 industrial zones and 50 industrial clusters, receiving great attention from foreign investors, including Taiwan. Up to now, Nam Dinh has many of large and small sized Taiwanese invested projects with total investment of nearly 200 million USD, mostly in textile and footwear sector. Nam Dinh is also one of a few areas in Vietnam oriented to attract investment in textile and garment sector, especially in weaving and dyeing. Therefore, Nam Dinh has become an attractive destination for investors in the T&G sector in Vietnam.
Mr. Chan Cheng-Tien, Chairman of Taiwan Textile Federation expressed Taiwanese investors’ interest to invest in textile and garment in Nam Dinh province, especially in Rang Dong Textile Industrial Park - Aurora IP, and their desire to extend their understanding and cooperation and to enhance textile and garment development in Nam Dinh province.

At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman of Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association, Standing Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rang Dong Infrastructure Investment and Development JSC., presented an overview of Vietnam textile and garment industry, policies for investment attraction in T&G sector in Vietnam, particularly in Nam Dinh province, and introduced about Rang Dong Textile Industrial Park - Aurora IP.
With planned area of more than 2000 hectares in Nghia Hung District, Nam Dinh Province, in which Phase 1 covers an area of over 500 hectares, Aurora IP is oriented to be the model industrial park with complete utilities and the top textile and fashion trading and service center in Northern Vietnam, aiming at localization of fabric production of 1 billion meters by 2022, being the pioneer in Vietnam textile industry fortification and development and the top choice for investors in T&G sector in Vietnam. Being the venue of the Conference, Aurora IP received special attention from participating Taiwanese investors.

In the context that Vietnam has joined the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership - CPTPP, the Prime Minister encouraged the development of supporting industries, particularly textile and garment supporting industry in line with Decision No. 68/QD-TTg dated January 18th, 2017, Taiwan - Vietnam Textile Investment Promotion Conference in Nam Dinh province has positively contributed to attracting investment in T&G sector in Nam Dinh, promoting the development of Vietnam T&G industry, and strengthening trade relationship between Taiwan and Vietnam.
