Decisions in key infrastructure investment, and administrative procedure reform to gradually become a bright spot to attract foreign investment have brought Nam Dinh's economy impressive growth, at the top of the Red River Delta region.
From a purely agricultural province, up to now, Nam Dinh's industry and services account for about 80% of the economic structure.
Nam Dinh is also one of the first two provinces in the country to complete the new rural construction program and most communes and towns meet the newly improved rural standards and many communes achieve model new rural areas.
According to Nam Dinh Department of Planning and Investment, in the first 6 months of 2023, the socio-economic situation of the province will continue to have a stable growth, GRDP is estimated at VND 27,221 billion, up 8.5% over the same period, ranking 3rd in the Red River Delta region, only after Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh province.

Focus on investment in inter-regional connectivity infrastructure
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang - general director of Xuan Thien Group - said that during the investment survey, Nam Dinh was found to be a land with many potentials and advantages for economic development.

Particularly in 2022, the total development investment capital in the province is estimated at VND 50,075 billion, up 16.5% compared to 2021. Total public investment capital in 2022 is VND 5,556,238 billion.
From 2016 up to now, 9 new industrial clusters with an area of 316.66ha have been expanded, accumulated up to now, there are 26 industrial clusters with a total area of 626.6ha; expanding and building 3 new industrial parks with an area of 706.68ha, accumulated up to now, 6 industrial parks with an area of 1,288.72ha have been invested in construction.
The focus of investment in the economic infrastructure of the province is to accelerate the development of strategic, diffuse, and inter-regional transport infrastructure, associated with economic corridors and urban corridors such as the development of a trunk road connecting the provincial marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway; coastal roads, which pass through the province; the new road Nam Dinh - Lac Pants - coastal road; Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway.
